7-Day Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral

carnival cruise ship mardi gras

And we'd know, with all the Italian seafaring spirit that's literally driving the ship. Mardi Gras® debuts Piazza Panini where the handhelds are hot and pressed, plus Bar della Rosa, where you'll sip authentic espresso drinks by day and classic Italian cocktails when the sun goes down. All this flavor and flair we’ve got in here may practically transport you straight to Italy… but don’t forget that so much of it can be enjoyed outdoors, where the sea breeze is just bellissimo.

Have fun at Carnival SkyCourse

The Bonsai Teppanyaki™ experience is set to delight guests aboard Mardi Gras®. Take a little time out of vacation to sit down to a selection of tempting appetizers, before your chef prepares the main course featuring selections of meats, tofu, fish, shrimp or lobster… right at your table. In the teppanyaki tradition — and Carnival’s tradition of fun — expect an interactive, satisfying meal full of surprise and delicious delight. Good find — the relaxation pool is an exclusive retreat to paradise, and the bar becomes a hot dance spot when the sun goes down. Grab a seat at the bar and order up a handcrafted Cuban cocktail like a traditional daiquiri or classic mojito. This bar is just steps from the pool, whose ocean view and atmosphere mingles with the bar's own, for a bit of that old-time Cuban resort flavor.

FAMILY HARBOR INTERIOR

The food at Emeril’s Bistro is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The crown jewel of Mardi Gras’ French Quarter zone is Emeril’s Bistro 1396, legendary chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant at sea. Riders on BOLT’s motorcycle-inspired vehicles can go as fast as 40 miles per hour while taking 360-degree views of the sea 187 feet below.

Double down in the casino, laugh out loud at a comedy show, sing your heart out at karaoke, take in a larger-than-life stage show, sing at the piano bar, or dance the night away in one of the clubs. Then again, you may want to catch the game on a big flat-screen at the sports bar. You can also watch movies and sports on the 12x22 outdoor screen of Carnival’s Seaside Theatre.

No matter which stateroom you book on Mardi Gras, you can expect modern and calming decor, plenty of storage space, and all the comforts you expect when you sail with Carnival Cruise Line. Empress of Canada offered regularly scheduled Transatlantic crossings between the UK and Quebec Canada (Liverpool - Montreal). After 121 Transatlantic crossings (RepositionCruises.com) and 82 Canadian cruises, Empress of Canada arrived in Liverpool on November 23, 1971, with which the regular Liverpool-Canada service was terminated. On December 17 (1971) the liner was laid up in Port Tilbury-London. The vessel's keel-laying (aka "coin ceremony") ceremony was held on June 18, 2019, with which officially started ship's construction at Meyer Werft's Turku Shipyard in Finland. During the special event, newly-minted unique coins were placed under the first hull/keel block in the drydock.

As previously mentioned, the ship has 19 decks and six themed zones. The “Ultimate Playground” zone on the upper decks features BOLT, the world’s first roller coaster at sea. BOLT’s self-propelled cars take passengers on high thrill rides of up to 40 mph (64 kph) on an 800-foot track with a stunning view of the ocean. The ship is the first of Carnival’s Excel class to debut and is currently the largest in Carnival’s fleet. The vessel features LNG (liquid natural gas) technology, six themed zones, and the first roller coaster at sea. Ship's 2-deck-high Lido zone houses fleet's biggest "Guy's Burger Joint" (by Guy Fieri), the Mexican food bar BlueIguana Cantina, the New England-inspired Seafood Shack, and Lido Marketplace (ship's buffet restaurant).

This unique restaurant that combines Chinese and Mexican cuisines is another first for Carnival Cruise Line. The menus change constantly throughout the week so drop by there every day. Guests can order classic deli sandwiches, including Reubens and meatball subs, delicious paninis such as a Caprese panini (served hot or cold), or meat-lovers varieties like Carne or Salumeria. Piazza Panini is located within the La Piazza area, and a counter-service sandwich shop is open until 10 p.m., nightly. Guy’s Burger Joint on Deck 17 is Fieri’s first Carnival Cruise Line dining venue, and it’s as popular as ever on Mardi Gras. Located in the heart of the French Quarter on Deck 6, Emeril’s Bistro 1396 features the authentic New Orleans flavors of Emeril’s hometown.

Six Distinct Themed Zones

This stateroom features classic, Old Havana decor and is perfect for cruisers looking to hang out and chat by the pool. BOLT, with its all-electric, motorcycle-style vehicles, features an electric bolt theme (of course). It traverses an 800-foot track that climbs and crawls, dips and swings over the deck at up to 40 miles per hour, sometimes reaching as much as 187 feet above the ocean. A unique feature allows guests to choose their own ride speed, allowing for greater personalization of the experience. Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555™, a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land.

Mardi Gras’ massive onboard waterpark is one of the largest in Carnival’s entire fleet (All the Excel-class ships have the same features). Located in the ship’s Ultimate Playground zone, the waterpark is a go-to spot for fun-loving kids and families, thrill-seekers, and the young at heart. The ride’s elevated track spans the cruise ship’s upper decks and features 800 feet of thrilling twists, dips, and turns, including a zooming hairpin loop around Mardi Gras’ tri-colored funnel. Outside on the sunny deck 16, beside the underrated, affordable a la carte Seafood Shack is a brand new destination for quick and complimentary bites, called Street Eats.

The restaurant is open for lunch (seadays only) and for dinner (every night of the voyage). A Carnival Excel Corner Suite aboard Mardi Gras features tons of indoor space, plus a large wraparound balcony with lounge chairs and an al fresco dining table, for when you need a little more space. Back inside this impressive room you’ll find a king-size bed, deluxe bathroom, plus a living room featuring a wet bar. Havana staterooms enjoy exclusive access to the Havana Bar & Pool.

He's cute, he knows how to chill… and flavor is everything to the little guy. We only just found out about the years he spent soaking up the sun among the grass skirts and frangipani flowers of the South Pacific where, he would tell you, it’s easy being red. You'll find some of his favorite recipes from those days on menu at the first-ever RedFrog® Tiki Bar — sip a Polynesian Punch, try a Jungle Bird, or get a little tongue-twisted ordering a Red's Rum Jumper. This poolside bar on Mardi Gras® spans two decks and transports you right to the land of Tiki. If you’ve strolled along New Orleans’ French Quarter in the evening, you’re not alone in feeling that mysteries and surprises lie around every corner.
